# Common installation issues

## A `404 Not Found` error from `http.kali.org/kali` during `apt upgrade`

1. Check your  source list: 

* `sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list`
* `deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free non-free-firmware contrib`

2. Clean local package lists

* `sudo rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*`
* \
  `sudo apt clean`

3. Update again

* `sudo apt update`
* `sudo apt full-upgrade -y` 

## **GPG error** saying: **The repository '**[**http://http.kali.org/kali**](http://http.kali.org/kali) **kali-rolling InRelease' is not signed**

* Download new Kali archive key:  `sudo curl -fsSL https://archive.kali.org/archive-key.asc | sudo gpg --dearmor -o /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/kali.gpg`
* `sudo apt update`  

## Vmware internet/network issues

Sometimes the network adapter of Vmware needs to be restored to default when there are network issues.

Edit==>Virtual Network Editor==>Change Setting==>Restore to Default
